YSM CNC-39T automated forming system .
We have set up local Technology Centres in Asia and Europe so that we can support our customers with faster response times from locations closer to where they are based . Our European partners also support our customers locally and offer trials and local testing of machinery to end-users .
Our machines are all Industry 4.0-compliant and IoT-enabled . We have developed high-tech systems to ensure the maximum up-time of our machinery .
ISMR : What are your views on the current global business climate for metalforming professionals ?
GW : The key driver of growth in the metalforming industry is the increasing global demand for manufactured goods . As the global economy continues to grow , especially in southeast-Asia ( namely places like China and India ), there is a growing demand for manufactured goods . This demand is being driven by several factors such as the

increasing population , the rising middle class in developing countries and the growing demand for consumer goods . Because of these factors , the metal fabrication and sheet-metal fabrication industries are expected to continue to grow in 2024 , driven by the increasing demand for durable and lightweight materials , rising infrastructure investments and advances in technology .
Industry trends ( such as automation and robotics , sustainable manufacturing , additive manufacturing and Industry 4.0 ) are expected to shape the future of these industries .
Companies that adopt these trends and embrace innovation are likely to thrive in the years ahead .
The main challenge that I see is the shortage of skilled workers , particularly welders and CNC machinists . The industry needs to invest in training and education programmes to attract and retain skilled technicians .
ISMR : What is your strategic focus / vision over the next few years ?
GW : “ Speed to market ” has been the most critical issue for us when we take on a project for our customers . The direct result of achieving this is a win-win for both the customer and us . How do we do this ? Over the last couple of years , we have developed the machinery listed below which we supply to our customers very quickly .
Standard machines : We have a range of standard machines that we make in batches of ten or so at any given point . We have these machines in stock and they only need electrification so , for customers who need our standard machinery , we can deliver as quicky as within 4-6 weeks .
Machine module standardisation : For customers that have special machinery requests ( e . g . they need a larger press or a combined linear and radial configuration ), we can deliver machines to them within 12-14 weeks . This is because all our modules are standard and we can put them together as per the customer ’ s requirements .
ISMR : Do you project any growth in turnover for this year ?
GW : We see very positive growth in the market and with our customers . We have booked in several large orders , which are
