The servo-electric PivaPunch punching station is equipped with Thick Turret tools that are set up in tool cassettes , configured for a product family , a large known batch , or flexible production , depending on the needs . Two identical cassettes are used at a time in a double punch process – one on each side of the material . This allows punching two holes simultaneously for double efficiency and low energy consumption . The integrated servo-electric shear takes care of Cut-to-Length ( CTL ) operation .
The tools used can be standard stationary or rotatable indexing tooling of size A to F or special shape tooling that would be used to punch a cluster of holes or do embossing . There can be several pre-set tool cassettes with different configurations , and for more tooling capacity , the large tool stations can be equipped with Multitool Adapters to achieve over 100 tools in a single two-sided punching centre .
