The new P2-1620 panel bender .

CMT for metal 3D printing transfer ; the P-Robot , combining a P2-2120 . G4 panel bender and a six-axis robot ; plus the B3 press brake with ATA devices for upper and lower bending tool set-up .

“ L3 . G4 offers an innovative gantry solution guaranteeing full accessibility to the working range , greater strength and machining precision . P-Robot introduces the innovative RVS artificial vision system , which recognizes the parts arriving on the belt and , whatever their position , manages their loading with no operator intervention or centring ,” added Salvagnini .
A new architecture that combines high accessibility with high rigidity and an 8kW high power density that reduces consumption and achieves the typical performance of 10kW sources are just two of the key features of the new L3 . G4 fibre laser cutting system . A wide range of advanced process control and efficiency solutions are available such as the ACUT option ( for cutting with suitably treated compressed air ), APM2 ( a compact turnkey device which connects directly to the pneumatic system of the factory to ensure the pressure values required for the cutting process ) and various artificial vision applications based upon neural networks .
Panel bending showcase
At EuroBLECH 2024 , Salvagnini will also present its new P2-1620 panel bender , in addition to four models already in the Salvagnini portfolio , which completes its range of compact panel benders .
“ It can bend 3.2mm thick sheet metal up to 1600mm long and 203mm high . The P2-1620 panel bender combines productivity ( automatic bending and handling cycles with an average of 17 bends per minute ) and flexibility ( universal bending tools ). No re-tooling is required because the upper and lower blades , counterblade and blank-holder are universal tools that can process the whole range of thicknesses and machinable materials . The ABA automatic blank-holder adapts the tool length according to the size of the part being produced in-cycle , without machine downtimes or manual re-tooling ,” continued Salvagnini .
The RSU option mounted on the P2 on display in Hanover will be equipped with a tool for scoring plastic film , which protects delicate materials such as stainless steel , making it easier to remove in areas subject to subsequent welding or assembly operations .
“ P2-1620 also guarantees zero waste production , adapting autonomously to the variations in the mechanical and geometrical characteristics of the sheet metal being machined , as well as to the external environment . Its advanced sensors measure the actual thickness and effective size of the blank , detecting any deformations caused by variations in temperature . MAC3.0 allows it to adapt to the material being machined by measuring the tensile strength in real-time ,” concluded Salvagnini . n

“ Metal 3D printing is on the rise in many industries : this process saves a lot of time and material , providing enormous flexibility when designing and adapting different components ,” commented Austrian welding specialist , Fronius .
With CMT Additive Pro , Fronius is presenting a 3D-optimised welding process with features such as an especially even layer structure as well as stability . With CMT ( Cold Metal Transfer ), Fronius has been offering a stable , controllable and comparatively cool welding process for decades . It has now optimised CMT specifically for metal 3D printing with Fronius CMT Additive Pro . The integrated arc-on rate stabiliser is designed to ensure a consistent wire speed , resulting in an even and predictable build-up of layers . This , it says , significantly improves the overall stability of the manufacturing process .
“ The right welding path with the right welding parameters and processes is crucial for a good result in metal 3D printing ,” explains Philipp Roithinger , an expert in additive manufacturing at Fronius International GmbH . “ However , this requires a high-performance welding system that precisely ensures the accuracy of the welding torch .”
The new iWave Multiprocess Pro , combined with the Fronius CMT Additive Pro characteristic , is optimised for metal 3D printing . The complete solution is compatible with common robot systems for additive manufacturing . Adjustable heat input ensures consistency in the height and width ratio of the bead . Identical welds can be stacked on top of each other , layer after layer . A Pulsed Hot Start function simultaneously achieves sufficient penetration and a constant layer height by starting welding within the pulsed arc . The entire process is controlled automatically , so no extra settings are necessary .
