Flexible Smart Job Shop ( FSJ ) line .
Italian sheet metal specialist , Salvagnini , has chosen EuroBLECH 2024 in Hanover , Germany ( 22-25 October 2024 ) as the venue for launching the global preview of its Generation 4 technology . It will offer pioneering solutions to tackle urgent market challenges : labour shortages and the need to maximize productivity and ensure increasingly high product quality , reduce errors and consumption .

The aim , said the manufacturer , is to guarantee increasingly low unit costs and increasingly high competitiveness .
Flexible Smart Line S4 + P4
The first solution is a Flexible Smart Line ( FSL ) S4 + P4 , a flexible production system integrating machines , people and Big Data in a single ecosystem . FSL analyses and interprets data to implement smart production flows and reduce scrap , waste and consumption . The MD single-sheet store-tower feeds the S4 punching-shearing machine , while the MC Cartesian manipulator unloads and stacks the parts , feeding the P4 panel bender and balancing the production rate . FLOW software manages the machinery independently , optimising the results according to the chosen production strategy .
“ FSL introduces the new S4 . G4 punchingshearing machine with low consumption , versatility and simple construction . The advanced hybrid actuators reduce average consumption by up to 20 % while eliminating the need for maintenance . MC is the automatic sorting device used to easily stack parts with different strategies , eliminating the geometric constraints from punching nests . NEXUS software generates the sorting program automatically , guaranteeing full process control and predictability , thanks to the integrated 3D simulator ,” explained Salvagnini .
Flexible Smart Job Shop
The second solution is a Flexible Smart Job- Shop ( FSJ ), the combination of three different stand-alone systems which work together , when required , to handle converging production jobs . The various systems are connected through the software , as well as by transfers and AMRs . Flexible Smart Job- Shop can also integrate intermediate stores or other machining stations upstream and downstream .
