New President and CEO of FANUC Europe

FANUC Europe Corporation has confirmed the appointment of Marco Ghirardello as its new President and CEO . Ghirardello succeeded Shinichi Tanzawa , who has been leading the company since 2016 and has now returned to FANUC headquarters for a new assignment . His contribution to FANUC Europe over the past years is highly appreciated , said the company .
Ghirardello , who has been with FANUC since 1994 , brings broad experience to his new role . Most recently , he served as the Senior Vice President of FANUC Europe , leading the Factory Automation business unit which includes FANUC ’ s important CNC control business . His previous roles included managing director for FANUC Turkey and then FANUC Italy , “ where he played a crucial role in the company ’ s expansion in this key European market ,” said Fanuc .
FANUC Europe achieved record sales of over € 1 billion in the past financial year ending March 2023 , and the number of employees increased to over 2000 . Ghirardello thanked his predecessor for his achievements : “ I will continue FANUC

Kiley becomes GM for OS Minneapolis

Olympic Steel Inc ., a metals service centre in the United States , recently announced the promotion of Leah M . Kiley to the role of general manager for the company ’ s Minneapolis , Minnesota , plate processing facility .
She will lead day-to-day operations with primary profit and loss responsibility for the facility and report to Thomas J . Sacco , Vice President – Central Region .

Ms . Kiley began her career with Olympic Steel in 2012 . She has held roles of increasing commercial responsibility throughout her time with the company , most recently serving as regional sales manager . She earned a Bachelor ’ s degree in Communications with minors in Business and Psychology from the University of Minnesota , Duluth .

Alcoa announces leadership transition

Alcoa Corporation has confirmed that William F . Oplinger was elected to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer of the company and as a member of its Board of Directors .
Oplinger succeeded Roy C . Harvey from 24 September 2023 , who will serve as Strategic Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer until 31 December 2023 .
Oplinger , 56 , has served as the company ’ s Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer since February 2023 and previously served as the company ’ s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from November 2016 to February 2023 .
