ISMR : Which trends do you see developing in global sheet metal / stamping markets ?
WB : Servo technology and the ability to control motion profiles for superior part quality and production is key . We are experiencing this need for both presses and automation solutions .
ISMR : Where do you see the greatest challenges and opportunities ?
WB : I see the continuous development of the global market for alternative drive solutions in the automotive industry ( EV / fuel cells / hydrogen ) and its impact on stamping , both positive and negative . This is a very dynamic and fast-moving development with changing parts , materials , volumes and much more . It is crucial that we are able to respond to the demands of the market with efficient and reliable solutions .
ISMR : What is your approach to Industry 4.0 and enabling technologies such as Artificial Intelligence ( AI ), Virtual Reality ( VR ) and Augmented Reality ( AR )?
WB : All our control systems are already equipped with the Industry-4.0 interface . This enables us to provide our customers with real-time system data from the control system to monitor the efficiency of the system and therefore ensure a continuous increase in performance .
ISMR : Are there any products / technologies that you have released or are releasing this year that you would like to discuss ?
WB : We introduced in-line cutting and welding technology to improve line productivity and reduce material waste . This technology reduces manual processes and reliance , while improving part quality .
ISMR : How have you embraced sustainability / energy efficiency in your products , processes and operations ?
WB : With our facility expansion , we are heavily focused on being carbon-neutral . We are investing to reduce our footprint as much as possible . We have significantly invested in solar power to almost completely eliminate our reliance on the local grid and are also implementing other processes through construction ( such as repurposed building rubble for new construction ).
ISMR : Thank you for your time . n
