ISMR : Please highlight any particular successes and achievements , as well as any significant targets reached , over the past two years ( of which you are particularly proud )?
WB : SYS is really growing and in a very exciting time right now . We are in the process of a significant campus expansion at our facility in Grafenau , Germany , while also launching several new products to the EMEA market ( such as our Kyori high-speed presses ). I am proud that SYS is a key player in the global growing EV / lamination market .
ISMR : Which investments have you made over the past twothree years ( machine tools , factory , staff etc .)?
WB : We have embarked on a 16-million-euro 3,600 square metre campus expansion to increase both our production and support staff spaces . We have also introduced new milling machinery and initiated new production processes to maximize shop efficiency .
Our staff is a significant investment for us too . We have a young , vibrant workforce and are actively investing in their future with SYS , sharing our trade and processes in a manner that hopefully is something they wish to view as a long-term career . new solutions to meet market challenges . Metalforming equipment companies looking to help these stampers must understand the challenges ( and also opportunities ) being faced and help them adapt their processes , while also delivering a nimble and flexible product that can quickly adjust to the market .
ISMR : What percentage of your turnover do you spend on R & D ?
WB : R & D is focal to our core values . Approximately 6-8 % of our employee base is active in these initiatives , in addition to customer-facing employees who are interacting and knowledge sharing on a daily basis to
drive our innovation SYS PVC tandem feeder . initiatives .
ISMR : What is your strategic focus / vision over the next few years ?
WB : We are heavily invested in our new facility and subsequent staffing development . Additionally , to meet demand from evolving EV / lamination and fuel cell markets , we are developing new products and working with customers to integrate existing technology .
SYS is focused on the future and leaving a lasting impression in the high-speed and lamination markets . We are investing to demonstrate to our customers and employees that long-term impact to our industry is critical .
ISMR : What are your views on the current global business climate / markets for sheet metal / stamping professionals ?
WB : The EV / lamination and high-speed stamping markets are rapidly growing , and stampers and toolmakers are actively seeking
NP & A stand at Blechexpo / Schweisstec in Stuttgart . It demonstrated its e-mobility manufacturing solutions at the exhibition .
