For over 40 years , Alma ’ s software solutions have helped to optimise material consumption and the potential of machines and robots . It is a specialist in the automatic nesting of complex shapes for sheet-metal cutting and a leading developer of CAD / CAM software for sheet metalworking , cutting and robotics . Its software is marketed via a worldwide distribution network that includes country subsidiaries ( in Germany ; Italy ; Spain ; Brazil ; USA ; Singapore and China ) as well as value-added resellers ; integrators and partners ( machine-tool manufacturers and software publishers ).
Alma was created as a cooperative company ( SCOP ) in 1979 . Its parent company in France is entirely owned by its employees and favours innovation , investment in products and sustainable cooperation with customers and partners .

Latest innovations
Alma presented the latest features of its new-generation Almacam software suite for 2D / 3D cutting , sheet metalworking and mechanical welding at this October ’ s EuroBLECH sheet-metal exhibition in Hanover ,
Germany . Its web applications and Cloud software components for cutting optimisation were also on display .
The new Almacam software suite comprises CAM for laser / plasma / waterjet cutting ; punching-nibbling ; routing ; tube and profile cutting ; offline programming of welding robots ; sheet metal quoting ; production management ; ERP integration etc . It is designed to structure the programming process and to program machines and robots “ with maximum automation and flexibility ”, according to Alma . It also provides complete traceability of production data .
