A variety of machine types are on offer , with press forces ranging from 60 to 320 metric tons and bending edges from two to four metres . It can therefore be used to produce a broad spectrum of bending parts .
The Classic model costs around two-thirds less than the TruBend 5000 and is equipped with the clamping system widely used in this customer segment so that customers can use any bending tools they may already have . The Comfort model comes with the TRUMPF clamp and is therefore compatible with TRUMPF bending tools . Users have access to a demo version of TRUMPF ’ s offline programming software , TecZone Bend . This means the machine can be programmed from the office while in full operation , thereby increasing productivity .
Laser welding
EuroBLECH marked the launch of new BrightLine Scan technology for TRUMPF ’ s TruLaser Weld 5000 laser-welding machine . TRUMPF launched a new solution at EuroBLECH 2022 to improve the quality and robustness of laser welding . Currently , the only way to guide the laser beam during the welding process is via the welding robot but TRUMPF ’ s new BrightLine Scan technology will also allow users to guide the laser beam using the laser scanner . This combination of robot and scanner makes it possible to supplement the forward motion of the robot with a further , freely programmable movement of the laser in any desired direction .
This “ oscillating motion ” is facilitated by the use of specially developed lightweight mirrors . By enabling scan frequencies in the kilohertz range , this new technique doubles the thickness of sheets that can be processed in heat conduction welding , upping it from three to six millimetres . The new technology allows users to tailor the parts ’ bonding surfaces – which are melted directly by the laser beam – to suit each particular application . This , said TRUMPF , makes for a more reliable process and results in higher quality parts . The fact that the beam can now also be guided using the scanner also makes it easier to achieve tighter tolerances .

The new multi-gripper can be easily adjusted .
Versatile multi-gripper
TRUMPF also displayed a new and versatile multigripper designed to deliver greater productivity for automated bending processes . It is fitted to the TRUMPF BendMaster robotic arm . Up to 12 grippers can be positioned in this way . Whereas a conventional gripper has to be modified for each new workpiece , all necessary adjustments for the new multigripper can be made at the system level . This reduces the time needed to set up the bending cell .
“ The TRUMPF multigripper makes it economic to use automated bending processes even for smaller batch sizes . Any company – even those already well advanced in the area of automation – can increase their efficiency with the multigripper ,” said TRUMPF . The gripper is available in two variants : small ( S ) for the transport of workpieces of up to four kilograms in weight , and medium ( M ) for workpieces of up to 35 kilograms . The gripper is used with the TruBend Cell 5000 .
With the M-variant , each of the eight suckers can be adjusted and replaced by a hex key . Minimal expertise is required to perform this operation . As a result , it is much quicker and easier to set up the gripper for a new workpiece . Each of the suckers can be individually activated . This is useful when handling workpieces with complex geometries . The S-variant features a swivel joint that rotates through 180 degrees . This means that the multigripper can turn over workpieces without having to put them down , reducing cycle times . n
