Industry 4.0 transformation
The automotive sector is the biggest spender on digital transformation , according to a new White Paper from ABI Research . Entitled “ Four Key Industries Embracing Industry-4.0 ”, the report forecasts that this sector ’ s spend on Industry 4.0 technologies will approach US $ 100 billion in 2022 and grow to over US $ 238 billion in 2030 . The main reason for this is that OEMs and their suppliers need to adjust for the move away from the internal combustion engine to electric powertrains .
“ The automotive industry is not alone in its digital transformation acceleration ,” said Ryan Martin , Industrial and Manufacturing Markets Research Director , ABI Research . “ Industry 4.0 – also known as smart manufacturing , connected manufacturing , the Industrial Internet of Things and other monikers – has revolutionised the way that companies manufacture , enhance and distribute products using new technologies .” n

Global architectural metal coatings market
The architectural metal coatings market is projected to grow from US $ 5.1 billion in 2022 to US $ 6.4 billion by 2027 , at a CAGR of 4.6 % between 2022 and 2027 . This is according to a new report “ Architectural Metal Coatings Market by Resin Type ( Polyester , Fluoropolymer ), Coil Coating Application ( Roofing & Cladding , Wall Panels & Facades ), Extrusion Coating Application ( Curtain Walls , Store Front ) and Region - Global Forecast to 2027 ” on ResearchAndMarkets . com
“ Factors such as globalisation ; urbanisation ; the rising standard of living ; increasing purchase power parity ( PPP ); infrastructural development and the increasing requirement to construct megacities in developing countries are positively influencing the demand for architectural metal coatings . Polyester is estimated to be the largest resin-type segment of the architectural metal coatings market ,” said the report .
Polyester architectural metal coatings have uniform properties ( such as good bendability , hardness , gloss effects and resistance to UV , chemicals , scratching and light ). Industrial buildings , cladding sheets and roofing tiles are common applications for these architectural metal coatings . They are sunlight-resistant and have structural integrity as well as being commonly used in applications in the engineering industry .
“ The Asia Pacific is the largest architectural metal coatings market globally . It has emerged as the world ’ s leading consumer , as well as producer , of architectural metal coatings owing to increasing demand from the domestic market , growing income levels and easy access to resources ,” said the report .
“ China has the largest share in the architectural metal coatings market in Asia Pacific owing to large numbers of industries and increased demand for excellent coating properties in the country . Despite challenges in the economy , the construction industry in Asia Pacific recorded significant growth in 2021 . The demand for residential construction remained strong in large economies such as China and India ,” it added .
