Special Projects support boost for WEMO

Danyel Benoit has joined the sales team for WEMO Special Projects . He has 30 + years of experience in high-end sheet metal fabrication solutions and will be responsible for further business development and expansion in Canada .

“ Just like the European market , the Canadian market is also undergoing strong development in the automation of sheet metal production . This process is further strengthened by labour market shortages , the desire for short delivery times , production per order and flexibility in the production process ,” continued WEMO .
Danyel ’ s extensive experience in developing new and existing markets at various companies such as the BLM Group , Danobat and AMADA equip him well as area manager , Canada , for WEMO , added the company .
“ We are beginning a new chapter to further our development of the North American market ; it is a market of great importance to WEMO and fits our planned expansion in coming decades , with emphasis on growing our sales and services . An eye on India
WEMO has also expanded its strategic market presence by assigning Amit Upreti as VP Business Development for the Indian market . As of 1 February 2023 , he joined the WEMO sales team for WEMO

Amit Upreti was born and raised in India and has successfully worked for the past ten years for a manufacturer of stand-alone bending solutions as national sales manager .
WEMO has identified huge potential in the Indian market .
“ The country is experiencing economic and demographic growth , which means there will be more demand for a variety of steel products like steel doors ; electrical enclosures ; elevator panels ; shelving systems ; dishwashers ; refrigerators and much more . Many WEMO customers also established manufacturing facilities in India 5-10 years ago and now want to upgrade their manufacturing facilities by moving away from stand-alone machines and meet demand with automated sheet-metal bending and punching lines from WEMO ,” it told ISMR .
WEMO Special Projects is a family business in the Netherlands with 60 years of experience in sheet-metal processing and machine building . It develops , build and installs fully automated metalworking machines for punching , bending and joining sheet metal and coil material into a semi-finished or finished product . n

New sales director of Nukon Lasers UK

Steve Haddrell , key account manager at Unison Ltd ( specialists in all-electric tube manipulation ) been appointed as sales director of sister company , Nukon Lasers UK . In addition to fulfilling his new role , Steve will continue to support Unison ’ s tube-bending machinery customers in the Midlands and south of the UK . Nukon Lasers UK became the exclusive UK and Ireland distributor for Nukon ’ s European-made fibre laser flat sheet metal and tube cutting machines in Autumn 2021 .
Beginning his career in laser as a supervisor with Nuneaton-based Subcon Laser Cutting Ltd . in the late 1980s , Steve moved to 600 Group ’ s laser division in 1998 where he worked in machine tool sales and applications . He joined Yamazaki Mazak UK ’ s optronics division as general manager in
Steve Haddrell .
2004 and moved to Unison Ltd as key account manager in 2009 .
“ It ’ s probably fair to say that I ’ ve accrued more than my fair share of laser-cutting expertise over the years ,” Haddrell laughed . “ I remember seeing laser-cut parts from some of the first commercial fibre laser machines in the late 1980s , when I was a foreman-fabricator in Birmingham . I was awestruck by what those machines could achieve . Obviously , since then , laser cutting has advanced in leaps and bounds with developments such as high-power fibre laser technology – like the 20kW nLIGHT model that we showcased at EuroBLECH 2022 .”
In terms of Unison ’ s desire to expand into laser cutting technologies , Steve Haddrell explained : “ For quite some time , we had been looking to extend the Unison product
range to include high-quality fibre lasers , as we believed they would be a natural fit with our all-electric Unison Breeze tube-bending machines . After considerable research , we finally met with European fibre laser manufacturer , Nukon . Since partnering with Nukon , we ’ ve sold its fibre laser machines to manufacturing companies across the UK .”
