Six technological themes
“ To date , over 300 registered companies have applied to exhibit i . e . more than the number collected , in the same period , for the 2023 show ,” confirmed UCIMU . Around 27 % of the applications received to date are from companies outside Italy , it reported . In 2023 , the exhibition attracted 19,000 visits from sector professionals , as well as 400 exhibiting companies ( 27 % of which came from outside Italy , representing 22 countries ).
The event offers a comprehensive overview of technological innovations , advanced solutions and emerging trends in the industry , bringing together specialists , companies and professionals from around the world .
The 23rd edition of LAMIERA will host several different areas of the exhibition , with six technological themes .
1 . ‘ FABBRICA FUTURA ’ will be focused on software and technologies for connectivity and data management , automation and digital and robotic systems applied to sheet metal processing .
2 . ‘ SALDATECH ’ will offer an overview of the wide world of welding .
3 . ‘ FASTENER INDUSTRY ’ will showcase screws , bolts , clamping and fastening systems .
4 . ‘ WORLD OF HEAT AND SURFACE TREATMENTS ’ will bring together machines , equipment , accessories and consumables dedicated to pre- and postproduction treatments for ferrous and non-ferrous materials .
5 . ‘ METROLOGY & TESTING ’ will be centred on systems , testing and measurement machines and quality control .
6 . ‘ BLECH ITALY SERVICE ’ will offer technical subcontracting and services for the industry .
Starting this year , LAMIERA will also offer a ‘ Revamping & Retrofitting ’ area dedicated to machines and equipment that have been re-conditioned and equipped with new functionalities . This is “ to meet the needs of a market that is complementary to that of ‘ new machinery ’ and partly in line with the criteria of the circular economy ”, the show organiser explained .
“ The results of a recent survey on the revamping and retrofitting industry showed a good growth trend in the sector , where large numbers of companies are engaged , including machine tool and plant manufacturers ( or their specific divisions ) as well as agents , dealers and maintenance operators . This business segment , estimated to be worth 1.5 billion euros in 2022 , is expected to grow and companies in the sector are optimistic about the future ,” it continued .
An eye on innovation
LAMIALAMIERA , the event area of the exhibition , will offer a meetings programme on key topics for the sector . Overseas operator presentations and initiatives relating to education will also be part of the event programme .
“ With this start and , considering the improvement in the market expected in 2025 ,” said Alfredo Mariotti , general director of UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE , “ we believe that the trade show can do better than the previous edition . The decision to bring forward the opening of the exhibition by one day , to align with most international events in the sector , will also allow our visitors the opportunity [ to visit ] the concurrent ‘ Made in Steel ’ exhibition dedicated to the steel
