Mobile robotics on display in Hannover

Bend TecDay demonstrations
TRUMPF ’ s Bend TecDay 2024 , held at the company ’ s Luton ( UK ) headquarters in February , showcased the company ’ s new TruBend Series 1000 press brake . Features include a BendGuard optical protection system and 19 ” touchscreen user interface . The control ’ s 3D visualisation aids simulation and production , providing operators with step-by-step guidance from tool set-up to component completion .
“ Designed as the entry [ model ] to our bending solutions , the new TruBend 1000 offers simple , precise and reliable operation at high levels of speed . Its sturdy system structure , high-quality components and intuitive programming system reduce the skill level required for operation ,” explained TRUMPF .
Bend TecDay 2024 also included an overview of TRUMPF ’ s TecZone Bend programming software . The software automatically creates a program proposal based on 2D and 3D data .

Laser welding protection screen
Shaver Industries , a specialist in industrial safety solutions , announced the European launch of its LZRTect laser welding protection systems this April at the MACH 2024 exhibition in Birmingham , UK . LZRTect can be pulled or retracted for steady protection during welding . The operator walks the guard from the roller tube to the J-hooks on the opposite side of the work cell .
“ The retractable laser weld screens are designed to provide reliable protection against lasers , sparks , heat , ultraviolet light and flying debris . The key feature of LZRTect is its versatility , allowing for quick and efficient movement to any welding location within a workspace ,” said the manufacturer .
The retractable system extends up to 20 feet in length , automatically retracting with a spring tension roller . This design allows for multiple mounting locations , facilitating top access and ensuring a clear path for overhead cranes when rolled up . Portable and durable , LZRTect ’ s screens can be swiftly moved to any welding location , eliminating the need for large stationary guards . n
