Upgraded PowerBend Industrial folder

The Schröder Group has redesigned its PowerBend Industrial folder and made it more robust and faster with a new bending beam and a more efficient drive system. The opening height of the clamping beam has been increased to 850mm and tools of up to 400mm high can now be used.
The PowerBend Industrial is available in two versions: one with a working length of 4000mm for up to 5mm thick sheet steel and the 3200mm version, which bends 6mm sheet steel. The Schröder Group originally closed the gap between its high-end folding machines and thin sheet metal machines with the introduction of the PowerBend Industrial folder in 2016.
“ The new folding beam is characterised by an even more rigid design with improved force distribution, which increases precision. Optimised kinematics, for example when changing from positive to negative bends, ensure shorter cycle times and improved folding quality( even with complex geometries). The set-up times for changing folding beam tools have also been significantly reduced via a quick-change system,” commented the manufacturer.
The PowerBend Industrial has also been equipped with more energy-efficient servo drives with higher dynamics. In some areas, the engineers have found ways to use components with less wear, designed to

reduce machine maintenance costs in the long term. Intelligent production feedback was also introduced, which will be used in automation and digitalisation projects in line with Industry 4.0.
“ We expect the redesign of the PowerBend Industrial to significantly increase productivity, especially for medium to high quantities,” said Thomas Ostermair, Head of Sales, Schröder Group.“ We also see improved folding quality for demanding materials such as stainless steel and highstrength sheet metal. Ultimately, efficiency and ease of maintenance will reduce operating costs for users.”
The number of manual interventions is minimised with the now standard up-anddown folding beam and the optional suction plate stop as an extension of the back gauge. The combination of both technologies allows the sheet metal to be positioned on the
horizontally aligned bending beam and fixed with the suction plate back gauge. The suction plate back gauge then positions the sheet for all bends on the applied side using the up-anddown folding beam with bending and counter-bending, and without further intervention by the machine operator.
Functions such as radius folding for step-by-step folding of radii and hydraulic clamping of the clamping beam with LED tool position indicator, for quick tool changes, further expand the application options. If required, sheets can also be positioned from the front( a processing option that is used by many manufacturing companies for narrow sheets and profiles). The PowerBend Industrial is also equipped with a touchscreen on the swivelling arm.

New XLNC welding table

XLNC welding tables from SCHWEISSTISCH24 have been developed for precision, durability and cost-effectiveness, the manufacturer told ISMR.
“ Featuring an optional plasma-nitrided surface, the XLNC tables are particularly hard, rust-resistant, low-wear and permanently protected against corrosion( suitable for daily professional use in metal construction, fixture construction or series production). The CNCmanufactured grid plates are to exact scale for millimetre-accurate work,” said the company.“ With thicknesses of up to 15mm and 25mm, made of high-quality S355 J2 + N steel, the table offers stability for even the most demanding jobs. The CNC-milled surface enables precise work, which is particularly advantageous for complex welding projects. A precise hole grid with 100 x 100mm and 16mm or 28mm diameter offers maximum flexibility when fixing workpieces. The chamfered and milled hole openings provide additional ease of use. An engraved scale and line grid directly on the work surface facilitate precise positioning and measurements,” it added.
Equipped with table legs and adjustable feet, the table allows individual height adjustment and a secure stand. The table is available in sizes such as 2000 x 1000mm, 2400 x 1200mm and 3000 x 1500mm.
