IMF directors called for advancing structural reforms to achieve more inclusive, greener and higher medium-term growth. Further energy and labour market reforms, including to boost female participation, remain important priorities.
Turkish machinery industry
According to a Turkish Government Investment Office slide presentation in April 2024, Turkey offers a dynamic, young and skilled labour force to support industry in the region. There is strong government support through manufacturing and R & D incentives.

The presentation flagged over 21,000 companies in the Turkish machinery sector( with local and international players). Around 61 % of machinery revenue is from small and medium-sized enterprises( 77 % of the companies with < 10 employees).
“ Turkey’ s metalworking and machine tooling market reached US $ 3.4 billion in 2022( the eleventh largest in the world). It has a strong industrial base with US $ 2.1 billion of production in 2022. Particular strengths include laser machine tools, forging and punching machine tools( including presses), which make up 80 % of the exports. Exports reached US $ 1.23 billion in 2022( 20 % growth in three years) with the industry diversifying its export markets to countries such as Germany, USA, Poland and Italy. There is an investment opportunity for CNC tools,” continued the presentation last April.

Manufacturers meet at WIN EURASIA
WIN EURASIA, a meeting point for the manufacturing industry, was held at the Istanbul Expo Centre in Turkey from 28-31 May 2025. With the motto“ Driven by Automation,” the trade fair connected more than 700 brands from 14 countries with 40,243 visitors and more than 200 hosted buyers. It spanned fields such as electrical and energy automation, robotic technologies, digital factories, welding systems and more.
“ International exhibitors participated from Germany; China; Denmark; France; India; Italy; Spain; Japan; Korea; Serbia; Slovakia; Saudi Arabia and Taiwan. This year, Saudi Arabia participated with a national pavilion for the first time. The Industrial Artificial Intelligence Special Area and the 5G Arena, in collaboration with Türk Telekom and Nokia, offered visitors a chance to experience cutting-edge technologies firsthand.
