Over 19,000 visits to LAMIERA in Milan
LAMIERA ( the international trade show of sheet metal forming machines , tools and related technologies ) took place in Milan , Italy , from 18-21 May 2022 . Promoted by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE , the Italian machine tools , robots and automation systems manufacturers ’ association , and organised by CEU-CENTRO ESPOSIZIONI UCIMU , LAMIERA returned after three years , postponed for twelve months due to the pandemic . ISMR also visited the show .
“ Over 19,000 entries were registered at the turnstiles during the four exhibition days . Apart from the number of visitors , which was higher than expected , it was the quality of visits that distinguished the audience of operators attending LAMIERA 2022 . Most exhibitors , interviewed at their stands , reported the presence of knowledgeable visitors and received visits mainly intended for purchases ,” the show organiser told ISMR .
“ Of the total visitors , 12 % were from overseas ( representing around 60 countries ). The most numerous delegations came from Austria ; China ; Croatia ; France ; Germany ; The Netherlands ; Poland ; Slovenia ; Spain ; Switzerland ; Turkey and the United States .”
There were 365 exhibiting companies , whose stands were set up in both halls , covering a total exhibition area of over 40,000 square metres . Thirty overseas delegates of the business mission were made up of end-users and journalists from Brazil ; France ; India ; Poland ; Romania ; Turkey and the United
States . The mission was organised by UCIMU- SISTEMI PER PRODURRE , in cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and of International Cooperation and the ICE-Italian Trade Agency , which also helped to create the exhibition area dedicated to start-up companies .
Over 100 journalists were accredited at the trade show , and 724 students registered to visit LAMIERA 2022 ( stopping at the UCIMU Academy area specially reserved for them ). The show organiser focused on guided tours led by tutors of the Association . In addition , there were also free visits , guided by teachers of visiting schools .
“ Over 30 meetings were hosted at LAMIALAMIERA , an arena set up in Hall 13 . The meetings were attended by around 700 operators , in addition to more than 400 remotely connected users who followed the speeches streamed on the lamiera . net website ,” UCIMU explained .
The next edition of LAMIERA is scheduled to be held again at Fieramilano Rho in Milan from 10-13 May 2023 . n

New coins for Platinum Jubilee
As people across the world celebrated Her Majesty The Queen ’ s Platinum Jubilee in June , The Royal Mint ( the original maker of UK coins ) launched a special three-coin collection honouring her reign .
“ The first coin in the collection focuses on Her Majesty ’ s awards and honours , recognising individual service in many forms . The second coin highlights Her Majesty ’ s work with charities and as a patron , whilst the third and final coin celebrates the Commonwealth , a ‘ family of nations ’ she has championed throughout her reign ,” said the Royal Mint .
Each coin in the collection is united by her signature in the centre of each design .
This marks the first time ever that this has featured on UK coinage during Her Majesty ’ s reign , a fitting tribute to mark The Queen ’ s Platinum Jubilee . The coin collection was designed by Irish artist and illustrator P . J . Lynch who represented three key areas of Her Majesty ’ s reign with richly symbolic designs that were inspired by and feature The Queen ’ s signature ,
The 15kg gold coin . as a symbol of her personal commitment to others .
The coins forming this collection are available as gold Proof , 4 ; silver Proof Piedfort ; silver Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated editions .
The Royal Mint also produced its largestever coin in celebration of the Platinum Jubilee . The 15kg gold coin , with a diameter of 220mm , is made of fine gold and has been hand-crafted . It features a special-edition commemorative design on both sides , that have been personally approved by The Queen , and was commissioned by a private collector . n
