New welding innovations from ESAB

Welding specialist, ESAB, has introduced the ROBBI™ 360, an enclosed cobot welding cell with a manual turntable that is designed to increase productivity, improve weld quality and enhance operator safety in robotic MIG / MAG welding.
“ Engineered for manufacturers seeking to quickly deploy an automated solution for medium- and high-volume applications, the ROBBI 360 cobot provides flexibility and user-friendly programming for quick set-up and easy adjustments. The ROBBI 360 manual load / unload turntable features a maximum payload of 150kg per side, enabling users to boost productivity by up to 60 % compared to cobots with a single loading station. A cobot with a turntable can easily enable an arc-on of 50 to 80 %, or a 4X to 8X improvement compared to manual welding,” explained ESAB
ROBBI 360 is delivered as a complete“ plug-and-play” package that has been weld-tested before shipping. With the addition of power, shop air, filler metal and shielding gas, it is ready to weld. ROBBI 360 includes a Universal Robots’ UR10e cobot; a 3469 x 2228 x 2628mm cell enclosure for protection; turntable with a 1200 x 800mm work envelope; an ESAB Aristo 500ix or Aristo Edge 500R power source and matching feeder; an integrated fume extraction hood and all electrical and gas connections. The entire assembly is mounted on a skid with fork truck pockets for easy positioning and redeployment. The fully enclosed workstation has rigid aluminium cell walls, a rugged steel base and a stable TCP( tool centre point).
“ The ESAB Teach Tool uses a‘ no code’ or plain language program so users can incorporate a multitude of functions that enhance performance and productivity. There is no need for a robot programmer on staff, which is often the case with smallto-medium-sized operations. Users can easily program each side of the turntable to weld different parts,” said Tom van Dooren, Global Product Manager, Integrated Robotic Systems and Mechanised Solutions, ESAB.

ESAB’ s new Tracfinder Rail and Tracfinder Wheel give fabricators more tools to increase welding productivity.
the cobot arm for crash protection. Safety interlocks ensure the cobot will not operate if the table is not correctly locked or if the doors are open. As an option, users can add ESAB’ s WeldQAS automatic weld monitoring system.
Tracfinder modular welding tractor
“ Tracfinder Rail is designed for horizontal and vertical welding in all positions using high-stability rails with rack and pinion transmission to prevent slippage at speeds up to 180cm / min. Our teaching software empowers users to easily program precise weld paths with up to 50 points, ensuring accuracy along the weld seam,” said ESAB.
Tracfinder Wheel, a versatile autonomous welding tractor, features a magnetic base with 28kg of magnetic force that enables it to operate in all welding positions at speeds up to 200cm / minute( including vertical up and down, overhead and on inside and outside diameters). The new tracking software adjusts the Tracfinder Wheel’ s trajectory based upon torch position settings, eliminating the need for rails and minimising set-up time.
“ Dual motorisation with independent left / right control and four-wheel drive deliver traction and stability in any welding position. For added convenience, the optional remote control lets operators adjust direction on the move, just like steering a remote-controlled car,” added ESAB.
“ With their digital controls, modularity and flexibility, Tracfinder Rail and Tracfinder Wheel represent the next generation of productivity tools available to fabricators,” outlined Tom van Dooren.
“ Their enhanced capabilities expand the application possibilities of companies who want to weld long, and even not so long, joints and seams. The initial Tracfinder products are for MIG / MAG and flux cored welding, and we will be adding capabilities for oxyfuel cutting, plasma cutting and carbon arc gouging in 2026,” he added.
Tracfinder tractors feature a common platform that is available with Standard, Advanced and Advanced + control packages. n
