Roll tooling for AG panels

Bradbury ’ s AG roll tooling is designed to produce high-quality panels and maintain “ exceptional production longevity ” on its rollforming machine .
“ It not only prevents common deformities found in AG panels but also offers a longer lifespan in production ,” explained the manufacturer .
Bradbury ’ s AG panel tool sets come with a specialised bow correction fixture , eliminating the unsightly banana or canoe appearance of major ribs . Excessive bowing can lead to panels that don ’ t lay flat and have open laps .
“ What sets our panel tool sets apart is their inclusion of 212 main forming rolls and ten straightener rolls , which is approximately 40 % more tooling pieces compared to [ most ] other suppliers . This abundance of tooling allows for precise separation of critical over-form bends , giving operators the flexibility to adjust for different steel types ,” explained The Bradbury Group .
“ The AG panel tool sets require a minimum arbour diameter of 3.5 inches . This larger diameter reduces deflection , resulting in uniform formation of high-wear features . The benefit of this uniformity is especially evident in the minor ribs of AG panels , where the tool set produces an identical middle cell to the outer minor ribs . Other suppliers can often use smaller diameter arbours , which are more prone to deflection . This deflection affects the uniformity of the minor ribs , with the middle cells being noticeably less defined ,” it added .
Designed with seven-inch pitch forming , Bradbury AG panel tool sets necessitate larger outside diameter rolls . These larger rolls provide more footage per revolution , giving the tool set better longevity . The AG panel tool sets are constructed using through-hardened
tool steel , allowing for re-cutting without compromising wear resistance .
The Bradbury Group offers various rollforming machine models to meet the needs of its customers and the industries they serve . Its panel roll-forming equipment includes a complete panel roll-forming line solution with configurations such as pre-cut ; post-cut ; Single High ; Double High ® and Rafted ® roll formers with flying or stop-to-cut shears . n

AI vision system for robots

MIRAI is an AI vision system from Micropsi Industries that makes it possible to automate tasks otherwise considered too complex to solve .
“ Robots guided by the MIRAI system can deal with reflections , specular highlights and transparency . Thanks to MIRAI ’ s real-time control , robots can track moving objects : no CAD files or simulations are required ,” explained the manufacturer . “ MIRAI attaches to and augments industrial robots . Once fitted with MIRAI , a robot can perceive its workspace through cameras and correct its movements where needed as it performs a task ,” explained the manufacturer .
MIRAI consists of both software and hardware . Users attach the MIRAI system to their robot . The MIRAI kit can be tailored to various automation needs and includes a tablet / training app ; a controller ; camera ; lens ; ring light and camera mount .
“ Users can familiarise the MIRAI system with the action they want it to perform and the variance it may come across . MIRAI then learns how to behave when it encounters variance while executing the desired action ,” added Micropsi Industries .
Common applications include insertion ;
end-of-line testing ; rack hanging ; picking and leak detection . Micropsi Industries and DEPRAG also offer an automated screwdriving solution that can handle variance in manufacturing workstations .
Founded in Berlin in 2014 , Micropsi Industries now comprises more than 60 people including robotics engineers ; software engineers ; cognitive scientists ; business developers and designers . It is headquartered in Berlin with its main U . S . office in San Francisco . n
