“ Industry 4.0 is a key industry trend . Taiwan is the third largest exhibitor country at EuroBLECH , out of 50 countries . More than 60 % of Taiwan exhibitors at EuroBLECH are already doing smart manufacturing so our industry offers a lot of smart manufacturing benefits . 5G and smart manufacturing is the way to go for Taiwan ’ s industry ,” added Jimmy Chu , CEO of Fair Friend Group .

“ Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic , demand in China has been rising since May 2020 and throughout the third quarter of 2020 . China is now making a strong comeback . However , the aerospace and automobile industries have suffered the most in Europe . After the inauguration of President Biden , we hope that the automotive and aerospace industries in the U . S . will see a revival . I believe 2021 is a hopeful year in Asia and the economy will not suffer as severely as in 2020 . TIMTOS 2021 Hybrid offers an important opportunity for the Taiwan machine tool industry ,” explained Jimmy Chu , CEO of Fair Friend Group , during the recent press conference .
James Huang , Chairman of TAITRA , told ISMR : “ Taiwan is facing a lot of challenges right now . The machinery industry had a tough year in 2020 . Sales went down , and we saw the rupture of the global supply chain as well as geopolitical issues . We not only had to manage our companies well , but also face other challenges . We are living in a time of uncertainty , but we are seeing a recovery in the machinery industry from the fourth quarter of 2020 .
“ In the future , forging ahead , stimulating the global economy and recovering from the pandemic is a shared mission for us all globally and the machinery industry ( as the foundation of many other different industries ) will play a leading role in this . We need to get back on our feet to inspire other industries to do the same . TAITRA and TAMI will be doing all we can to ensure that TIMTOS 2021 is held as scheduled . It carries a lot of industry expectations . TIMTOS has become the third largest machinery show in the world and I believe that it can also be a driving force for Taiwan ’ s economic growth ,” he added .

the pandemic last year . Taiwan could be a role model of pandemic prevention in the world . Even though we are experiencing an economic slump , machinery and machine tools are so important . A challenge can be turned into an opportunity ; this is an opportunity to upgrade our supply chain and manufacturing equipment . From the second half of 2020 , we have seen some industry recovery ( orders coming back ). However , we still face shortages in human resources and rising shipping costs .
“ We will stick very closely to pandemic prevention guidelines to ensure that TIMTOS goes ahead - it will be a great platform for us to show the world our strengths . We have not seen a large-scale international trade show in the world since the second half of last year . I believe that this kind of hybrid exhibition will become the norm so this is also an opportunity for members of the machinery industry to learn , upgrade and transform ,” he concluded . n
