In mid-2020 , TIMTOS launched a selection of online activities . The TIMTOS Salon webinars and TIMTOS Glimpse series , for new product launches , were launched in August 2020 .
In the TIMTOS Salon , high-profile professionals from the world ’ s machine tool associations comment on their local markets respectively , while the TIMTOS Glimpse series highlights specific exhibitors and their products . Other online events will also be launched . They have already featured five key representatives from machine tool associations in the United States ; Turkey ; Russia ; India and Thailand , as well as eight Taiwanese manufacturers ( HIWIN ; Lien Chieh ; Buffalo Machinery ; Accutex ; Chin Fong ; She Hong ; Keyarrow and Ying Han ) who share their market insights . ISMR attended TAITRA ’ s live-streamed online press conference on 20 January 2021 , where high-profile leaders of well-known manufacturers discussed the new deployment of the smart machinery industry in the postepidemic era , as a warm-up for TIMTOS Hybrid in March 2021 .
Senior executives from the machine tool industry , including the chairmen of Fair Friend , Hiwin and Chin Fong , talked online during the CEO Dialogue on “ Restructuring for the Smart Machine Industry in the Post Pandemic Era ” with TAITRA Chairman , James Huang and TAMI Chairman , Alex Ko . All of them affirmed that the launch of TIMTOS will be positive for the global machine tool industry and will particularly boost confidence in the Taiwanese machine tool industry which suffered a COVID-induced slump in the first half of 2020 but recovered in the second half of last year .
TAITRA Chairman , James Huang , commented that Taiwan ’ s pandemic prevention performance has attracted worldwide attention , especially the resilience and flexibility from Taiwanese manufacturers during the pandemic . He added that , in TIMTOS , the unprecedented changes in the market and the increasing demand for technological development , which has contributed to industrial transformation , will be seen in a variety of new products showcased by TIMTOS exhibitors .
