FACE TO FACE in Europe and the U. S. We are already adding new features to the machines,” he added.

Thomas Krone, Voortman’ s business development and marketing director, highlighted further significant strategic investments.
“ We also investing in a local presence for new geographical areas. A great achievement for us is the construction of a new factory in Chicago in the United States. We are close to opening the factory and plan to build the first machine in Q1 2026. This will unlock many opportunities for us and our customers. We have also set up sales and service offices in Italy and Spain this year, with our own engineers that speak the local language. We also further expanded our existing sales and service offices i. e. in France and Germany. In short, we are investing in technologies, R & D and engineering capability as well as sales, service and production facilities on the back of a strong foundation of growth over the last few years,” he summarised.

Product and software innovations
Voortman offers a range of machinery including high-end, fully automated machines for lights-out production. The company has been busy adding more capability around its machines and software for its customers. Combining laser cutting with drilling, milling and thread tapping, for example, around the V353 machine( page 54) helps its customers to manufacture more finished products from their machines, cutting costs and increasing overall productivity. Reducing processing costs and improving overall productivity will be further optimised, said Krone, because of:
■ The long bed gantry style concept of up to 36m, that allows multi-plate processing in different plate thicknesses. Larger plates can be processed, allowing optimised nesting and better material yield.
■ Autonomy: Auto plate buffering and measurement, nozzle changing.
■ Flexibility: processing a wide range of thicknesses up to 75mm with 40kW and auto nozzle changer with 24 positions.
The V353 combines laser cutting with drilling, milling and thread tapping.

Voortman USA

Voortman’ s new production facility and office in Monee, Illinois( USA) is moving ahead. Two major milestones have already been reached: the foundation of the production hall is complete and the steel structure of the office has started. By early 2026, the site will be ready for machine assembly and warehouse operations.
Teams in Rijssen( the Netherlands) and Monee( USA) are preparing everything needed to launch production. Logistics and knowledge transfer are key. The 27-acre site( 12 hectares) will soon house a modern 20,000-square-foot( 1,900-squaremetre) office and an 80,000-square-foot( 7,200-square-metre) production facility.
“ With the new location in Monee, we will start assembling machines locally for U. S. customers. For our customers, this will result in reduced delivery times and improved supply chain and will stabilise USD-to-EUR currency and import tax fluctuations,” confirmed Voortman.
“ Another key feature for our customers is the ability to fully automate beam processing, from stand-alone systems to large lines that combine machines so that profiles can be processed in very efficient ways. We installed our first integrated fabricator machines( which automatically weld beams) on these lines so we cover the full process. Our software makes it easy for users to operate,” explained Stef Rohaan.
“ We want to differentiate ourselves by offering more than a machine. We believe that we should grow along with the customer and deliver value to them with the right software, service and technology. It’ s a partnership. So, we continuously develop new features on machinery, software and services, growing alongside our customers. We have also developed a new software product that incorporates a quality check control( LogicSteel XR), using AI to check if structures are fabricated in the right way. This helps fabricators to be more productive and competitive,” added Thomas Krone.
On its booth, the company showcased the new LogicSteel software suite that it launched in September 2025, incorporating the spinoff LogicSteel XR( an extended reality tool for visualising and verifying welds during quality control using AI). Stef Rohaan demonstrated the software on a beam for ISMR at the tradeshow, putting on the googles and opening a 3D model on the material produced. The new LogicSteel software is a complete suite of packages that includes MRP, CAD / CAM, data insight analysis and XR.
Voortman is using AI in its new nesting software to optimise logarithms for better nesting, better calculation and better planning tools, as well as to bring insight and analysis on the data from its customers’ machines. This helps its customers to make the right decisions from their data and increase their overall efficiency and productivity.
