ISMR : Do you have plans to attend any specific exhibitions in 2022 ?
JA : We are exhibiting for the first time at SteelFab in the United Arab Emirates early next year and also plan to exhibit at EuroBLECH in Germany in October 2022 .
Other exhibitions next year where we will have a presence ( through our distributors ) include FABTECH in the USA , MACH in the UK and Austech in Australia .
For example , if you are welding a part and need to put bracket A on the left-hand side of the part and bracket B on the right-hand side in a specific weld sequence , but you miss one or two welds or the bead on a weld is a little bit too thin , a machine could highlight these issues ( projecting light directly onto the part ) as the part is being produced .
We are in a unique position to create a system like this because you need to be able to scan a 3m part in 3D in a few seconds , which we can already do . So , we already have a head-start in this area . There are many applications for this in general production .
These are the kinds of applications that our new GaV product could provide . For processes that cannot be automated or where automation cannot be justified , our new Guidance and Verification ( GaV ) technology is designed to use machine learning to guide and verify manual operations . This truly enables real-time closed loop manual operations .
Inspection is an often overlooked , but necessary , part of automation . Without inspection , a smart factory is an open loop system with the potential to create , quickly and efficiently , large numbers of bad parts . An inspection system is needed to close that
ISMR : Is there anything else that you wish to add ?
JA : Whilst the sheet metal industry is at the core of our business , it is worth mentioning that our systems are being used , and are suitable for use , in many industries such as o-rings ; seals ; gaskets ; plastics and electronics ( to name a few ).
