Mazak launches its new FT-250
Mazak’ s new FT-250 tube laser cutting machine will make its European debut at TUBE 2026.
Yamazaki Mazak is preparing to showcase the latest developments in its tube laser technology solutions at TUBE 2026( 13-17 April 2026 in Düsseldorf, Germany) as it continues to expand its presence in the European market. Making its European trade show debut on stand C17 in Hall 5 will be Mazak’ s new FT-250 tube laser cutting machine.
“ The introduction of the FT-250 expands our tube laser range, which already includes three other models, and strengthens its ability to support a variety of production requirements. Developed to process round pipes of up to Φ254 mm and 203mm square pipes, the FT-250 is designed to meet the demands of up to 80 % of market requirements. Compared to previous models, the machine’ s increased loading capacity extends the scope of heavier workpieces that can be efficiently cut,” Mazak told ISMR.
A key feature of the FT-250 is the dualfunction design of the heads, which integrate a dedicated laser cutting torch and a mechanical spindle for tapping, drilling, milling etc., each mounted on independent saddles. This

allows for reduced processing cycle times and contributes to a higher throughput when processing round and square tubes, as well as structural beam sections.
With the new model’ s ability to carry out a variety of advanced machining functions( such as tapping, drilling and countersinking) multiple operations can be combined within a single system. This can minimise handling and transfer times while supporting efficient, highmix production workflows.
“ The FT-250 is controlled by the SmoothTUBE CNC, designed specifically with tube processing applications in mind. Its easy-to-use, dual-touch panel and 21.5” graphical interface offer an intuitive workflow, visual process monitoring and direct job-editing capabilities. The machine’ s layout is designed for user-friendly operation, enabling simple loading and efficient maintenance for improved serviceability. At the unloading stage, a slide cover on the conveyor aids smooth front-side operation during daily use,” commented the manufacturer.
Gaetano Lo Guzzo, Director Laser Business Europe, Yamazaki Mazak, concluded:“ The FT-250 represents a significant addition to our tube laser portfolio and underlines our commitment to providing world-class laser machines that can help European customers to overcome the challenges that they face while delivering efficiency, precision and profitability.” n

Robot monitoring platform for IVECO
COMAU has deployed its in. Grid Robot Monitoring platform at IVECO’ s Valladolid plant in Spain, helping support IVECO’ s industrial digitalisation strategy. Developed to enhance operational visibility and improve maintenance efficiency, the cloud-based system monitors COMAU robots on IVECO’ s Door Ring and Mascherone assembly lines.
The system autonomously captures production and process data, identifies performance deviations, signals anomalies and verifies user-defined KPIs. This statistical and trend-based analysis helps IVECO’ s engineering team to optimise robot utilisation, reduce unplanned downtime and strengthen overall process reliability.
COMAU supported the IVECO project through simultaneous engineering efforts that included installation of the Framing line and the Door line. Not only were both lines designed with a flexible production concept, the COMAU-supplied geogripper Framing line features a ring-shaped layout engineered to minimize non-value-added stations and maximize efficiency. Similarly, for the Door line, COMAU applied its proprietary table-top standard during the development process. Both the Framing and Door lines utilise COMAU robots and its Versa Pallet transport system.
“ By integrating in. Grid within the existing automation infrastructure, IVECO has gained a unified digital environment that supports proactive maintenance and informed decision-making. The platform’ s capacity to process large volumes of data directly from robot controllers ensures a detailed understanding of each robot’ s status, performance and maintenance needs. Alongside its monitoring capabilities, in. Grid offers asset management and variable tracking functions allowing IVECO to visualise historical trends, monitor spot-welding parameters and improve maintenance scheduling,” said COMAU. n
