Though commonly associated with aging , lackluster energy levels are all too common among people of all ages . Conditions such as chronic fatigue , becoming easily exhausted , feeling depressed or burned out , or simply lacking sufficient energy to meet the demands of life are rampant . We can all relate to the disappointment of having great intentions to do something and in the end , we just didn ’ t have the energy for it . We know great energy affords us the opportunity to not only do more ( living life to the fullest ), but also to be our best self !

There is so much misinformation with regards to improving energy .
The first thing to understand is that increasing “ real ” energy is not the same as a temporary energy boost . There is a critical distinction . Real energy is the amount of energy our cells are capable of generating ( by the mitochondria ) to sustain life . Think of it as your energy engine !
A temporary boost , on the other hand , is like momentarily revving up that engine .
What About Coffee ?
Failing to make the distinction between real energy and temporary energy boosts often leads people to try to improve their energy by constantly relying on too much caffeine , sugar , energy drinks , stimulants , or even pharmaceuticals . These are not long-term solutions because they don ’ t improve your body ’ s capacity to make energy . They ’ re very temporary . Even worse , if overused , they can backfire and lead to even more diminished energy levels !
Don ’ t misunderstand me : I ’ m not suggesting that everyone should totally ditch coffee . Anyone who knows me , knows that I love ( love , love ) coffee .
