Veggies and Fruits . Looking for the biggest nutritional deposit you can make ? Hands down , plenty of colorful veggies and fruits is the way to go ! Plant foods are rich in health promoting phytonutrients . Emphasize a wide variety . A great tip is to get creative with recipes and find ways of sneaking in extra veggies . For example , adding cauliflower rice and sauteed onions to organic lean ground beef . If you are trying to lose weight , adding veggies is a great way to not only turn up the health value of your meal , but also volumize your food without adding a lot of calories . When choosing your veggies , go for color diversity . Include at least three colors daily :

No better time to include superfoods that enhance your immune function than now .

• Greens : kale , spinach , lettuce , broccoli , zucchini , kiwi
• Reds : beets , watermelon , raspberries , tomatoes , apples , cherries , pomegranate
• Yellow / Orange : carrots , summer squash , bell peppers , pineapple , peaches
• Blue / Purple : blueberries , eggplant , blackberries , red cabbage
Healthy fats . Along with those colorful veggies , also pay special attention to healthy fats ( btw , great for your skin !). Healthy fats include the following :
• Avocado
• Walnuts
• Flax and chia seeds
• Salmon
• Oysters
• And if you want to get fancy ... caviar !
Immune Boosting Superfoods . No better time to include superfoods that enhance your immune function than now . Include a variety of the following daily :
• Leafy greens : kale , endive , spinach , dandelion
• Berries : especially blueberries !
• Citrus : for health and taste , try adding a squeeze of lemon to your food and your water !
• Cruciferous vegetables : broccoli , brussels sprouts , cauliflower , cabbage
• Onions : red , white and green . Remember , color is good !
• Garlic : ever tried pickled garlic ? I find it delicious . Majestic Garlic is my personal favorite .
• Green Tea : So many benefits . And for some of us who tend to drink too much coffee , green tea can help cut down on coffee with just a simple swap .
