We have all been hurt and bruised by friends , colleagues , or even family members . Resentment only contributes to unhappiness and holding on to bitter feelings directly opposes internal happiness . Nelson Mandela once said that “ Hatred is like drinking poison and then waiting for it to kill your enemy .” While forgiveness is not always easy , letting go of the past can often prove to be the medicine needed to improve mental health . At a time when we are all struggling , and if you can find some small way to ease a little of the unhappiness and stress during this difficult period - why not try ?
Hopefully , you can take away some positive feedback from this article , even if only one thing . Everyone has had at least a few moments over the past year when it all seemed to be too much – when the unyielding pressure of news reports and health protocols threatened to overwhelm us . Do not look backwards – set your sights on the next minute , the next hour , tomorrow . Take one step at a time . Find the time to zero in on the little pins that will poke holes in the stress balloon . Whether you meditate , eat healthier meals , help someone , or begin an exercise routine , every small step – even a small one – represents a victory . Think about yourself ; prioritize your wellness .
