Do Not Compete With Your Coworkers - Get Your Hands on Them !
One of the main reasons I never had a problem staying busy at any job I held was because I refused to compete with my coworkers . Professionals who are more concerned with their colleague ’ s bookings are always the ones who aren ’ t busy . When you ’ re busy , you ’ re not concerned with what your neighbor is up to . Focus on building your books , while being supportive of your coworkers ’ growth and success as well . Offer your services to your coworkers , let them see what you do first hand so they ’ re confident in referring their clients to you when needed . This fosters a fun and healthy work environment .
Remember that no one is “ the best .” This isn ’ t a sport , there ’ s no championship title to win . Our industry is great because there are so many ways to do the same thing . Let go of wanting to be “ the best ” and allow yourself to become the best version of yourself . The clients who like your treatments will return , and the ones who don ’ t will find a provider who better suits their needs . Don ’ t be offended by it , we can ’ t possibly service everyone anyhow .
Align Your Intentions and Your Mindset .
My mantra since my first year as an aesthetician has been “ clients are abundant , and money flows freely .” When you set good intentions for yourself , you attract the clients who are right for you - I truly believe this . There will always be enough clients to go around . Staying in an abundant mindset will keep you motivated and busy .
Set up Multi-Disciplinary , Long-Term Treatment Plans for Your Clients and Keep the Revenue in House .
Every time you treat a client , consult them . Find out how they ’ re feeling about the look and feel of their skin and suggest ways to improve it . When a treatment that benefits them falls out of your scope of practice , refer them to a coworker who provides that service .
