East Elementary
Named a Leader in Me Lighthouse School
East Elementary was just named a Leader in Me Lighthouse School by Covey’s organization. While
there are over 2500 schools total in NC, we are 1 of 7 to receive the Lighthouse Award. The Leader in Me
Lighthouse School title is awarded by Franklin Covey to honor the attainment of a well-rounded leadership
model. Lighthouse Schools serve as models of leadership and mentors to other schools. There are more
than 2,800 schools worldwide that participate in The
Leader in Me program, with only 274 earning Lighthouse
certification. This is in international honor!
