FFA Chapter
at Statesville High School
Tuesday, March 21, 2017, will be a day
to remember at Statesville HIgh School.
The first FFA Chapter in the school’s
history was chartered and the students’
teacher and advisor, Lauren Aldridge, could
not have been happier. “These chapters
are designed to serve the community
and harvest abilities,” she noted, a few
moments after the Charter was signed. “It’s
wonderful that the N.C. State Students who
lead the State Chapter of FFA came today
to make this day special for my students.”
After the ceremonial signing, the students
and guests moved to the school’s new
greenhouse. Michael Byrd, President of
the Statesville Chapter, FFA, was asked
about his future plans and how FFA has
and will impact his educational career.
“After college, I would like to return to
Iredell County as a veterinarian, operating
out of Harmony. I’m happy that Statesville
High has this program because students
will learn a lot about where food comes
from and develop leadership skills.”
Holding the office of Sentinel, Christian
Tevepaugh’s formal duties are assisting
the President and maintaining the meeting
place in an orderly fashion. “I don’t have a lot of experience, but I love learning about animals,” he said. “I’m
excited that the agriculture classes and this Chapter of FFA have come to Statesville High.”
