West Iredell Middle School

West Iredell Middle School is very proud of Carson
Pass. This 8th grade student auditioned and was selected
for the North Carolina Middle School Honors Chorus
for 2016. This honor becomes even more prestigious
when one understands that almost 2,000 students
from around the state auditioned, and only 154 were
selected. Auditioning before a single judge, Carson has
distinguished himself as one of the premier tenors for
middle school in North Carolina.

According to Mrs. Lisa Gragg, Carson’s Chorus
Teacher at West Middle, “It is a very rigorous process with
an extremely challenging audition that forces students to
realize sometimes in life you only get one chance at an
opportunity.”

Carson and the other winners will be performing
at the North Carolina Music Educators’ Conference in
November. Iredell-Statesville Schools are very appreciative of Mrs. Gragg’s dedication and proud
of Carson Pass for his accomplishment.
