Summer Camp for Free ? With Crosby Scholars ... Yes !
If you ’ re a rising 10 th grader this summer , Crosby Scholars and Mitchell Community College can help you answer two perpetual questions : What am I going to do this summer ? And , what should I be when I grow up ? These two organizations are offering three FREE career exploration camps starting as soon as school lets out in June .
During the weeks of June 11 th and 25 th , students will have the opportunity to explore four different career fields at our Career Quest camps . These four-day camps are back after a successful launch last year when students explored information technology , culinary , healthcare , and manufacturing careers ( thanks to a generous grant from Hope at the Lake Foundation ). Each day featured a half day of hands-on activities and a half-day field trip . After drawing blood from a dummy , visiting a local manufacturer , making and eating hand pies and much more , students left with a better understanding of what people do in these four fields . These jobs became more than just a vague idea for participants and helped them identify careers they might be interested in exploring further . It was a fun week too ! At pickup time on the last day , campers exchanged phone numbers and hugs after snapping pictures together before they parted ways .

That part becomes an integral component of the device they build on the last two days of camp . Finally , campers will take a field trip to local
