SG Edge, based in Noida (Delhi- NCR) exhibited at the event for the first time. Santosh Kumar, chief executive officer of SG Edge, said that the company’s experience at the event was relatively good. “It was a very small event. We were hoping that the event would amass a huge crowd over the course of the duration but it failed to do so. Our experience wasn’t that good but we shouldn’t judge an event by participating just once. We are looking to participate again in order to penetrate better in the Sri Lankan market. Though the event was small, we found some potential customers. We have generated some enquiries and will look at converting these in due course of time. I feel that the Sri Lankan market lacked awareness of the event and hence the attendance was trimmed,” Kumar added. SG Edge exhibited its servo-driven, narrow-web flexo printing machine, SGF-340 with UV curing for printing labels. LABEL INDUSTRY IN INDIA GROWS STEADILY Maharshi displays shrink sleeve machine at ProPak 2018 HARISH PENUMARTHI A hmedabad-based Maharshi is a leading manufacturer of packaging machinery, supplying mostly to the label industry. At ProPak, at the Greater Noida expo centre we met Jignesh Dani, the company’s marketing director. He spoke about Maharshi’s participation in the event and about the products on display. “The core objective behind our participation was to meet new people, generate enquiries and share view and opinions with stakeholders from the packaging industry. Apart from this, we’re also here to display our shrink sleeve machine for decoration of products,” said Dani. Maharshi’s shrink sleeve machine is used for decoration apart from labeling or direct printing on bottles. This machine is very popular for cost-effective product decoration. Other decoration methods such as self-adhesion are a tad expensive when compared to shrink sleeves. This method is also beneficial for the decoration of asymmetrical products, ones that have varied shapes and sizes.
