During our photo shoot at my studio in Concord , NH , I really got to know the band and witnessed rst-hand what they ’ re all about . I knew from minute one that I would denitely need a thick skin and a great sense of humor to hang with these guys ! I quickly realized that these four guys are all about rock n ’ roll and everything that it stands for . “ Sex , Drugs and Rock n ’ Roll ”… two out of three ain ’ t bad . They irt with the ladies like a group of 17 year old high schoolers--just ask my neighbor who was watching the photo shoot . They are 100 % rock n ’ roll . But what about drugs ? Not necessary . This foursome of 40-somethings would rather split an industrial sized pack of Cialas than get stoned . True story …
Their camaraderie and friendship was undeniable . They are 100 % all about the music and are willing to do what ever it takes to get their brand of music to the masses .
When I asked the guys what their demographic is , they all said the same exact thing--their target audience is “ 40 + years old , tattooed bikers and titties ”…
Here is my conversation with Lone Wolf James … MM : Tell me about the history of the band . Where and when did it all start ?
Gary : I started LWJ in 1997 . I was writing songs for my then rst CD " Prey " on an acoustic . I started performing the open mics around New England and in the year 2000 , I recorded the “ Prey ” CD . After that sold out , I wrote more songs and recorded my second CD " Native Groove ” in 2002 . In the process , I had scrambled various players to give the songs more of a full band sound . After receiving “ Best Male Vocalist of the Year ”, Music Meter Hall of Fame , Elite Artist Awards--and having that CD sell out--I decided to rehash the band . As I released the CD ’ s " Tribal Funk " and " Voodoo Moon ”, I began to open for some big names in our industry-- bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd , ZZ Top , and Ted Nugent , to name just a few . As happy as I was with the previous recordings , I didn ' t feel I released my masterpiece yet . I felt like I needed to get the right guys and the exact sound that I wanted . After putting the current lineup together , I recorded the new CD and simply titled it " Lone Wolf James ". Even though it was the fth release for me , it was the most I ’ ve ever sounded like the real me . The guys in the band are awesome and we have a sound no one can deny or touch . We are currently taking the band on the road to promote the new CD . We will take this all the way to the big time .
