MY JAM TV Interview with Russ Markowitz and David Zucker I am old enough to remember when MTV actually played music videos. I remember how cool it was to see your favorite bands up close and personal. I also remember the birth of reality TV, and how this phenom is now the preferred programming for half of television today. With that being said, very few music channels actually play music videos--and even less play unsigned Indie bands. I know various outlets--such as YouTube, Vimeo, etc.-allow for anyone to post anything, and this stage has worked remarkably well for some aspiring musicians. One may ask, “Why another music network?” For the record, YouTube has 14 billion videos…remind me again how to nd yours? Enter MY JAM TV! My Jam TV is poised to become THE revolutionary music network. The brain child of RUSS MARKOWITZ and DAVID ZUCKER, My Jam TV promises unsigned band the ability broadcast their music videos to a potential audience of millions. It will allow unsigned indie bands with HD quality videos the chance to go global. I caught up with Russ and David and asked them a few questions about My Jam TV… TELL THE READERS ABOUT MY JAM TV… My Jam TV is a revolutionary 24-Hour Music Network with a global reach, created for musicians and their fans; by musicians and their fans. Here, artists and bands will have a unique forum to share their music with millions around the world--through both terrestrial television as well as all digital platforms-for a very nominal fee. As both creators of media as well as being musicians, we know that there are thousands of professional producers, actors, song writers, directors, and musicians who possess the talent, creativity and drive to create content that can and will entertain the masses. But unless you get that one-in-a-million lucky break of being discovered by the right person...you’re stuck. We created My Jam TV to ignite thought as to what is possible and establish an “open call” and viable venue for talented professionals to submit their work, be fairly chosen, be seen and most importantly, overcome the looming obstacle associated with this industry and not having the right connections. For the fan, we have created a mainstream setting resembling the original music video TV networks. The music video will receive a fresh face and renewed vigor--venturing away from the saturated and fragmented YouTube corner--which enables our viewers an opportunity to experience new music that they normally would never have the opportunity to hear. With myjamtv.com, viewers can log on and go our “Fan Pages” section to learn more about the artists they have seen on My Jam TV.
