KOKOMO … not heard of them ? To get a feel for this “ funkified ” band , think Average White Band … which was one of the bands that Kokomo toured with .
Kokomo is comprise of ten members , and today , there are still 7 of the original that remain . The band was formed back in the 1970 ’ s , and came to fame playing funky soul music in the pubs and clubs of London . The members of Kokomo have an impressive resume of appearances in their repertoire that boasts a veritable “ Who ’ s Who ” of recognizable names -- such as King Crimson , Joe Cocker , The Who , Elton John , David Gilmour , Bryan Ferry , and countless others . As a quick side note , back in “ the day ”, this was the only other band managed by Steve O ’ Rourke , of Pink Floyd fame .
