CONVERSION DELAY

“ Out of Sight ” EP Review by Tim Campbell • Music by Conversion Delay “ Grey Imagination ”
Since the band ’ s inception in May of 2012 , Columbus , Ohio rockers CONVERSION DELAY have developed a reputation for bending genres and creating soundscapes that are more massive than their generally small lineup would suggest is possible . This has never been the case more , than on the group ’ s new EP , “ Out of Sight ”. The collection of 6 songs , set for release on March 11 , 2017 , is a departure from the band ’ s previous works , but still features the quality song craft of the group ’ s 3 older releases . Since their last album--2014 ’ s “ Face in a Crowd ” -- they have added bassist SEBASTIAN OLSSON . This allowed multi-instrumentalist JD JOHNSTON to focus solely on guitar . Drummer NICK ALLEN also moved from an electronic kit to a more traditional , acoustic drum . These changes allowed the band to explore more sonic territory on the EP , but they still carry elements of the industrial sound that fans have come to love .
