CONVERSION DELAY

“ Out of Sight” EP Review by Tim Campbell • Music by Conversion Delay“ Grey Imagination”
Since the band’ s inception in May of 2012, Columbus, Ohio rockers CONVERSION DELAY have developed a reputation for bending genres and creating soundscapes that are more massive than their generally small lineup would suggest is possible. This has never been the case more, than on the group’ s new EP,“ Out of Sight”. The collection of 6 songs, set for release on March 11, 2017, is a departure from the band’ s previous works, but still features the quality song craft of the group’ s 3 older releases. Since their last album--2014’ s“ Face in a Crowd”-- they have added bassist SEBASTIAN OLSSON. This allowed multi-instrumentalist JD JOHNSTON to focus solely on guitar. Drummer NICK ALLEN also moved from an electronic kit to a more traditional, acoustic drum. These changes allowed the band to explore more sonic territory on the EP, but they still carry elements of the industrial sound that fans have come to love.
