YD: What is the rst instrument
that you learned to play?
HL: It was drums, actually…but I
was never very good. I did take
piano lessons early on, and I also
studied music theory…but my ear
“took over ”, so to speak.
Nowadays, if you put sheet music
in front of me, it would take a week
for me to gure it out.
YD: What were the roles of
members in the band “Family
Affair”?
HL: My mom sang and my dad
played bass…I was 14 when we
started playing in public, but it was
great experience and I started
earning and saving money too.
Today, his music is a fusion of
Rock, Funk, and a whole lot of Soul

LOOMIS perform, the rst thing
you need to do is to be ready for
anything. It’s a rocking night that is jam-packed with Blues, POP, some lovely ballads, table
dancing, and good family fun. Yes, I did say table dancing. HE is the one dancing ON the table!
Whether singing, or playing guitar and harmonica, HAMILTON LOOMIS is denitely one of the
more entertaining performers you will ever see on stage, or stepping from table to table during his
show. His signature moves! The man has style.
He not only greets you with a smile, Hamilton is a gracious host to all who venture into his arena.
Wherever he plays, there is a synergy amongst the performers on stage and those watching him
from their seat. If there isn’t a dance oor, you will still nd people chair dancing and grooving to
the music. THAT is encouraged, as you will see in the live video performances that capture his
technique and upbeat attitude.
