YD: How old were you when you composed your rst song?
HL: It was a little Blues song called “Love Sick”. I was 17, and looking back, it sounds like a 14year-old wrote it (chuckling). As you live life and experience things, your writing denitely gets
better.
YD: What instruments do you play besides the Drums, Piano, Guitar, Harmonica, and Bass?
HL: I’m most comfortable with guitar and bass. I played a lot of bass in and after college, including
upright bass, and I love the “role” it plays in music. It’s refreshing to be a part of the rhythm
section, as opposed to the guitar being in the front all the time.
Hamilton has come a long way since the days when he would sing or play with his parent’s band.
He engages you with imaginative lyrics, tempo and rhythms, and a charismatic personality. He
appeals to audiences of all ages…Hamilton’s music speaks to you.
There are too many fascinating songs in his collection of original compositions to name them all.
The guitar and harmonies are a substantial part of the music production. HAMILTON LOOMIS
incorporates a few mash-ups during the live performances. He lays down a new spin on
recognizable favorites from RUFUS THOMAS to PRINCE and more. The legendary BO DIDDLEY
made a contribution on two of HAMILTON LOOMIS’ recordings!
