ANARIA is an Independent five piece band based in Southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts. Their genre is
described as American Symphonic Metal, Symphonic Metal, Power Symphonic Metal; the common adjective being
“Symphonic”. Anaria’s music is a combination of powerful melodies, Heavy Metal, Opera, grace and beauty.
I’ve had the pleasure of seeing them perform live on a few occasions, photographing them and I recently got to sit down and
talk to these 5 very dedicated, very talented musicians. The highlight of my interview was the unveiling of their new single
“Covet” from the forthcoming album “Seasons of the Mind Volume One: Inception”, due for release on May 15th.
Meet the band:
Jessica Jackson--Lead singer
Dan Spinney--Guitar
Chad Niles--Guitar
Kevin H. Brady--Bass Guitar
Zac Paquette—Drums
I arrive at “Anaria” headquarters—specifically, the home of Dan Spinney--guitarist and de-facto business manager. He’s
devoted the entire second floor of his family’s house to the band. On the right is the office of Anaria Central; where Dan handles
the band’s business dealings and the five get together for regular band meetings. On the left is where the “magic”
happens...through the efforts of late nights and lengthy rehearsals. Over the past few months, I’ve gotten to know these five
and found that the more time you spend with them, the more you’ll be at ease with them and eventually, call them friends.
There’s not an ounce of pretentiousness, no conceit and no attitudes. Just five people with a desire and passion to write and
perform the best music they can. They all have day jobs: a postal carrier, warehouse worker and flooring installer that devote
all of their off hours from “oh so those pesky pay the bills” type day jobs. Their total dedication to this band is very obvious and
their talent as artists is top notch.
