Michael Rushton
Newly relocated to North Carolina from Texas, Michael quickly learned that a whole new world
existed just by looking through the viewfinder. Having served 11 years in the UNITED STATES AIR
FORCE, his military career ended after an injury in Iraq in 2008, at which point he took up
photography as a profession. While influenced by the work of other photographers, he has never
been one for convention or rules and he shoots in a style that is “his”. He finds that living and
shooting in the moment makes for better images, and is often told this is reflected in the organic
nature of his images. Michael has been a contributing Photographer for ION in the past, and was
a key contributor for the May 2015 issue featuring the band BASH. We are proud to have Michael
on the staff of ION.
Paul Bordenkircher
Paul makes debuts this month in ION as our Columnist on the “Business of Music”, bringing 30
years of music business and technology experience to our publication. A recording engineer, he
lists over a half dozen major label and independent releases to his credit, and dozens more in
marketing and promotion. His guidance at gospel labels such as EMI, GOSPO CENTRIC and
INTEGRITY MUSIC ushered in the contemporary worship movement, and set a new paradigm for
church music projects. He currently teaches music business and technology at the UNIVERSITY
OF NEVADA Las Vegas, and also works as a live sound engineer for various Las Vegas shows. He
and his wife, CJ, operate MESA SAND VENTURES, LLC, which includes a music publishing
company and blog. Welcome, Paul!
The Editor would like to thank the following people that have contributed and supported to ION over the last year: KEN /CAROL
