A.J. ALBRIGHT, a former member of Ten Blade, while always an energetic presence on bass guitar,
has seemed to find a new level, creating a crowd-pleasing, formidable, solid part of the rhythm section.
A.J. certainly did his part to keep the band properly paced throughout the entire set.
D.J. RILEY, the other part of a very impressive rhythm section, pounded the skins without mercy, while
keeping perfect time with A.J., leading Broken Beneath right where they needed to be. The two of
them, while whether they have or have not, seems like they have been playing together for years.
There is a definite musical chemistry there.
SCOTT BILLINGS, the guitarist and the only member of
Broken Beneath that I had not seen perform prior, blazed a
path through the set. Slaying the guitar riffs and knocking
down rhythms--made me forget that there were two
guitarists playing in previous incarnations of some of the
music that was being performed this night.
As I look for ways to describe the night’s overall performance
by Broken Beneath, I will simply say it was superb. If you are
looking for a Hard Rock band that delivers the goods with
excellent musicianship, great stage presence and strong
vocals; with a sense of belonging in every song sung, Broken
Beneath should be on your list of shows to attend. If you
can’t get out and enjoy the live experience, you can find them
on YouTube, and various social media sites. With the band
writing more new material and spending time in the studio
recording, we should soon have much more Broken Beneath
material to enjoy.
