For the most part, I get pretty free reign at Tricky Falls, but that wasn ' t the case with Jimmy Eat World … security was tight. The Tour Manager ran the backstage area with an iron fist. Nevertheless, the amped up crowd was more than ready for JIM ADKINS and the band to start the show, and when they hit the stage at 9:30, the bedlam began. 1500 people were on their feet and singing every word to every song, creating a“ ripple effect”— as each fan was feeding off of the other. It was a sight for sure!
It reminded me of dumping fuel on a fire, as songs like“ Always Be”,“ Big Casino”,“ I will Steal You Back” and the only song I had ever heard before,“ The Middle”, had this crowd completely engulfed in flames of fandom.
In a nutshell, not really my personal cup of tea. However, I am quite confident that the fans that witnessed this performance by these“ men from Mesa” would disagree with me. In spite of the usual lighting challenges, I think I got the shots.
As a major U. S. touring attraction, Jimmy Eat World is making a mark as it makes its way across this great country. If you ' re a fan, the money spent on the price of your ticket will be well worth the investment. Guaranteed, you will walk out of the venue thinking these guys could not have given you any more“ bang for your buck”.
