David: Probably the “Drunk George” incident in Florida. And…I’m just gonna leave it
at that.
Tell me, of all the songs ever written, which one you WISH you wrote and why…
Wally: For me it would have to be ANGIE APARO’S “Wonderland”. The song was
written for his daughter. When my first child was born, I sat down and wrote
several songs for her. However, I have not before or since heard a song that is more
perfectly crafted. It’s just beautiful. So, to this day, I sing that song to her before bed
sometimes.
Ricky: “Free Bird”—it is the greatest iconic song ever written to me. Everything
about that song is perfect—from the lyrics to the drums—just absolutely beautiful.
Justin: Probably “All Along The Watchtower”. JIMI HENDRIX made his version of
it from BOB DYLAN. And the things that Jimi put in it are amazing—and even to
this day, you can hear that song playing. It’s made its mark for years to come, so it
would have been pretty awesome to have made that.
David: “Highway to Hell”! Does it really need an explanation? It’s just a damn
awesome song!
What one person has had the biggest influence on you as an artist?
Wally: My father. He introduced me to music. In my earliest memories, I would sit on
my father’s knee and listen to old JOHNNY CASH 45’s and BEACH BOYS albums.
Ricky: My father. To me, he will always be the best drummer and my hero!
Justin: JOE SATRIANI
Ricky: When I would curl up in my father’s bass drum and fall asleep to “Dream Big”
while he would be playing at the house!
George: The first time I got out in front of an audience, the adrenaline and the fun I
had on stage told me everything I wanted to know about my direction in life.
David: My dad started it all when he let me play his old trumpet for the first time.
Ever since, I’ve been hooked on playing.
