Review- Theme Analysis: This film brings out quite a few themes, but the major one is coming of age. Growing up in your teen years isn’t so simple, especially when you end up in a foreign country. This movie represents bullying, falling in love, and social displacementwhich are all part of growing up. The main character who is an adolescent boy slowly goes through his teen phase and discovers the world around him. The movie being PG is directed for mostly teens. Coming with a great story, this movie has many positives. Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith, both are able to show their skills on screen. The settings and the directing are on point. However, the plot could’ve been a little more original. The same old storyline can help the viewer guess the next event, making a movie seem slow– at least for a teen. In conclusion, Karate Kid will easily interest and entertain younger kids and qualify to be a popular movie choice and middle school parties. The song Fix You (2005) is the one that stands ou t on our list. Unlike the rest, it is slow. steady and effective. The reason it was picked as the number 1 choice is because this song has helped many teens through almost any situation. The lyrics reflect back up on a lot of the problems teenagers go through such as breakup, loss of a loved one or even bad day. The song itself is very soothing and Chris Martin’s voice is also a perfect fit. The climax is in the very end brings out many emotions. That’s something that a lot of the teens need to carry on.
