Another reason that local food is good for supermarkets is because they can get the food from close by and they don ' t have to pay shipping from South America or some place that they have to use an airplane to bring it to the market, they just need to drive it over from a couple miles away. In my local market, they have products called Jersey Fresh. That means all of the produce with that label are grown right here in NJ!
