~ Who? Everyone should contribute to the local food movement but not everyone does. Mostly because they don’ t know about it, but because of my article they will. What? The definition for local food movement is Local food or the local food movement is a " collaborative effort to build more locally based, self­reliant food economies ­ one in which sustainable food production, processing, distribution, and consumption is integrated to enhance the economic, environmental and social health of a particular place." [ 1 ] It is part
of the concept of local purchasing and local economies; a preference to buy locally produced goods and services rather than those produced by corporatized institutions. This in a nut shell basically means, you buy food from local farms and farmers markets and it benefits your community. Where? This can happen anywhere, if there are farms and people who buy from the local farm. When? Usually buying local food would happen during the day when you buy from the supermarkets, but this movement is long overdue. Why? Because this is an easy way to help the earth, your community, and the pollution levels go down. How? You can just buy your groceries from farms instead of buying food from the large grocery stores / supermarkets.

Local food can be very good for supermarkets. Shoppers trust local food farms more than
