What is it?

Genetically modified foods( GM) are where the genes in the food are changed. This is done almost like copying and pasting. What happens is, the DNA is“ cut” where you would insert the new gene. Then, you“ paste” the new gene back into where the original DNA was. The foods then are grown normally by farmers. Most small fruits are not modified.
After the foods are modified and grown, they are given certain characteristics. These characteristics consist of more vitamins and nutrients.

What they can do

GM foods are everywhere in your diet. It could be an oil, vegetable, or grain. An example of a modified grain would be rice. This is an example of one of the many types of GM foods
