balance. If one key species is lost, the whole system may be threatened with extinction( Sheehan). For example, we have lost over 100 species of amphibians which is very dreadful and sad because they eat mosquitoes keeping the environment well-balanced. They also can provide cures for major human diseases that we are fighting.
What organizations are helping them?
There are tons of organizations that support endangered species. For example, some organizations are ESA, ESI, CITES, and SOS. ESA stands for the Endangered Species Act and they protect and promote plants and animals that are in danger of becoming extinct. ESI stands for Endangered Species International. They look for ways to save disappearing or extinct living things by looking at economic factors. CITES stands for Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species and it’ s an international agreement to ensure that trade does not threaten wild plants and animals survival. Lastly, is SOS which stands for Save Our Species. It ensures sufficient funding goes to species projects where it will have high impacts.
