3. Do the same with yellow polish.

4. Then with green.

5. Then with blue.

6. Paint the remaining portion of the nail purple.

7. Using white polish, mark out the center of the nail where the point and valley of the heart will be. This is just to make sure that the heart is centered on the nail. I also made two little dots approximately where I would have the top humps of the heart hit. This makes achieving symmetry a bit easier.

8. Using the dots as guides, draw the outline of your heart with white polish. The line does not need to be perfectly clean as it will not matter in the next step.

9. Using your white polish, fill in the area surrounding the outlined heart.

Finish with a clear coat to polish off all that pride and you are good to go!

1. Start by painting the top quarter-or-so of your nail red. If you have smaller nails or want the heart to take up more of your nail, paint a smaller fraction of it red to start.

2. Paint a single, thinner stripe of orange. (If making straight, clean lines is too difficult, you can always use strips of tape in the same way you would use painter's tape to create clean lines!)
